Well that was her folly. It just made him smirk a bit more. She was making a valiant effort. But he could tell. She was a bit too tense for it to be normal.
"Like it?"
He chuckled a bit, taking his drink back. And taking another pointed sip of his coffee.

She would fight it to the end.
She threw him a tense nod and what might have been a strained 'mm-hmm' before picking up her cocoa and very quickly taking a few drinks to wash that awful taste out of her mouth.

And he grinned. Straight up grinned.

She didn't break! She really didn't!
She was just... thirsty.
She came up for air, setting the mug down and coughing a bit. She had lost a bit of her composure but she was trying pretend.

"Are you alright?"
He tried to push back his grin. Putting on a concerned face.

She didn't believe him, not for one moment.
Nodding, she wiped a bit of foam off of her lip and sat up straighter. She cleared her throat and looked over at him, acting like nothing out of the ordinary had just happened.
"Yes. Why wouldn't I be?"

"I think you may be allergic to coffee."
He nodded slightly, still with the 'concerned' tone to his voice.
"It may be serious."

She worked hard to hold back a smile, looking away from him. She picked up her cocoa again, just holding it.
"Shut up." She tried to keep the bit of laughter from her voice.

"How rude. I'm just trying to save you from a severe allergic reaction."
He mocked offense, taking another sip of his coffee. A bit more than before.

She glanced over, watching him for a moment before finally breaking down and laughing a little.
"How are you drinking that garbage?"
She reached over and stole it right out of his hands to look it over in all its awful glory.

It made him smile a little. Her conceeding.
"It's not garbage if you're not allergic to it."
He made a bit of a face as his coffee went away. Why did she want it? It wasn't any good for her.

She wasn't conceeding just... being cute now. Plus she was a little fascinated by this he was trying to pass off as coffee.
Tch.
"I'm not allergic to anything." She smelled it and made a face, setting it back in front of him. "You just drink garbage."
And back to her book. Acting the role of aloof.

"It's not garbage it's just not plagued my ten spoons of sugar and cream." He rolled his eyes at her smelling it. And he picked it back up again, taking another sip.
"I like to actually taste my drinks."

She pointedly picked up her cocoa, purposefully ignoring him.
"Mhm."
And took a sip.

"Maybe I'm just a bitter person?"
He smirked a bit, drinking more.
