And she almost thought he was doing good. And then he had to go and be stupid. Pity he was so cute.
She wasn't about to give up though. She was too stubborn for that. And no one would forsake her for homework.
"Anything I can help with?"
Did she lean towards him a bit to 'see' what he was working on, possibly showing some cleavage? Why yes. Yes she did.

He was pretty sure that there was something she could help him with. Something... distracting. But he cleared his throat and shook his head, trying to keep his eyes away from a certain area of her anatomy, but failing miserably. He chewed his lip, staring for a bit longer than he had meant. "Hart'll kill me if I don't hand this in on time..."

"Well then I think you really do need my help."
She reached past him to pick up something on the other side of the table, brushing against him a bit. Only to put it down again.
He was trying to ignore her for work. She wasn't about to let him do that without a fight.

The closeness, and the smell of her, and the feel of her skin. Daniel sighed and pushed his book away again. "You're very persuasive," he said with a smile. "And I'm a naturally born bad student." He shut the book to emphasise his point as he said, "so screw the paper."

There it was. The reaction she was looking for. She was glad the cute boy finally got it. Danny, right.
But still... He tried to ignore her.
"You know, I actually think I have somewhere to be."
She pushed back in her seat, collecting her things. If he really wanted his distraction he was going to have to work for it. Or resign himself to his paper and rejection.

He was conflicted. Danny was never, ever one to chase girls. But he was also quite stubborn. So he battled between the two before the combination of the sooner, and the fact that he had a paper to write, convinced him to just let her walk away. She seemed like a girl that always got what she want, anyway, and he figured she needed a lesson. He kicked his feet up onto the chair she had vacated, and grabbed his book back, sliding his parchment and quill back in front of him.

She wasn't about to not leave. Karo had decided. If she stayed that would be weak and definitely not something she wanted anyone to see. So she got up and made her way out of the library. Heading back to her dorm.
And she didn't need a lesson. She needed to find someone more worth her time.
And yes. It annoyed her that he didn't follow or say anything. Prick.

Danny got back to his work when he knew she had gone. If that's how she wanted to play, he was going to stay on the bench. Or some game metaphor. He dragged his quill across the parchment, starting off slowly on the essay. But, well, at least it was a start. Maybe she had helped, after all.

She was a Muse after all. Apparently.
