"Angel."
He should look up anyways. He'd like it, she promises.
"No. There's not. And I'm not talking about that anymore."

He didn't get where he was today by being weak. Sorry, Angel.
"I have a lot of work to do, Miss Rubuelta."

"Angel."
And she didn't get where she was by giving up. Stubborn just so happened to be a trait of hers.
"Then you need to eat so you can concentrate."

He could tell.
Again, she corrected his use of her name and again he ignored it. He wasn't going to use her first name. He preferred to keep things professional.
"Miss Rubuelta,"
He stood, eyes locked on her face when he finally did look up at her.
"I am very busy, so unless you have any more questions about your homework I am going to have to ask you to leave."

It wasn't her first name. It was her nickname. It was entirely different. Anyone could use her nickname. Not anyone could use her first name.
He thought he was being stern and about to get her to leave. All it did was make her insides go a little shakey to the point of her having to bite back a shiver. She may have decided in the past that she was going to pursue him. It may have just happened. Either way, that was attractive.
Leave? That...was counterproductive.
"I'm not sure I completely understand what we've been going over."
First thing in her head.

That wasn't his intent. He had just been trying to get her to leave. He couldn't have her doing this everyday. It was so close, he knew it was, but then she pulled out another excuse and he was forced to stop, leaning back against his desk a bit.
He couldn't just accuse her of lying, though he was sure he knew.
"Which part?"

His intent or not it happened. She wasn't trying to find attractive things. It just happened. Apparently she liked older men. Go figure.
She was glad he bought it, though. Bought it or decided he couldn't fight it.
"I'm still not sure how you can do it without magic."
Again, first thing.

He wasn't going to lie, she was very pretty. She was his student, though, and he had self control.
At least that left him an opening. He had won. She didn't know it yet but he had.
"We'll go over that tomorrow in class."
He pushed himself up off the desk and slipped a hand around to the small of her back. He nudged her towards the door.
"I will see you then with your homework on my desk."

She tried. Really she did.
. . .
Angel opened her mouth to say something. Anything that would fix the stupid little mistake she'd maken. She'd given him an opening to stop this meeting. And he took it. God damnit.
Though she didn't hate his hand where it was. She'd go. Though she was going to put some effort into slowing her walk.
"If you say so..."

He felt the pressure against his hand, but didn't stop leading her to the door. He knew she was annoyed, but he wouldn't let that phase him.
They were almost to the door.
"I'm sure you are just as busy as I am."

"You'd think that."
She wasn't annoyed. She just didn't want to go. She wasn't finished here. But apparently he was... Fine. She'd show up early for class.
. . .
She stopped before they reached the door, turning a bit to look at him. Her posture hadn't changed yet.
"Are you sure I can't at least bring you something to eat? Since you're so busy."

She turned towards him and though he had done so well so far, with her so close his eyes wandered. It was maybe half a second but he found himself moving his eyes back up to look at her face. He could smell her and it definitely was not a foul smell at all.
"I am fine, Miss Rubuelta."

She tried, really she did. To look good. And smell good. And be attractive. Even the tone she used.
"Angel."
Close was good. She liked close. He could see her better up close.
"It's really no trouble at all."

It hadn't lasted long, his moment of weakness, and he hoped she hadn't seen it. Either way, he wasn't going to say her name.
"I will see you tomorrow."

Unfortunately she hadn't. She supposes she was too focused on his hand or something. Being close.
"No? No food?"
She sighed a bit. Fine. She'd go. Because she had to.
And she wanted him to say her name.
