About 9" by 7", the notebook had a bright pink, soft, fuzzy cover on both sides. The front had a yellow heart in the middle of the sea of pink with three jewels running down the right side of it. Her name was not on the outside, but on the inside of the front cover, embedded and calligraphic in pink as if it had been charmed to stay there forever. Which, it had. The pages inside were a lighter pink with darker pink lines.
A quill went with it, long and pink with the various tiny jewel. Whatever bird it came from wasn't the largest, but it must have been very beautiful.
It wasn't old, a going away gift from her parents and was very curious and unable to sit still for long. For anyone but Rini that was. It fully intended on protecting her secrets well and taking care of her even better. Besides that it couln't really help nibbling at a finger or two, or trying to push the other older books out of the way. They were boring. It didn't like being stuck in the middle of large piles and didn't want it's Rini going anywhere without it.

Don't get excited about opening it and seeing all of her secrets. Rini used the notebook both as a journal and a notebook for class. She wrote her almost everyday thoughts, the key points to her professor's lectures and all of her homework before she transfered it over to parchment to turn in. After she finished every entry the notebook stored it away for only her to be able to find later. You might get lucky, though, if you can make it in before it bites you, her most recent work may still be sitting on the front page.
