September 10th - Wednesday
Just after her Advanced Transfigurations Theory class, Rini Andou made her way into the commons to grab herself a pastry and a seat in the corner to work on her homework. She would normally stay in her dorm but her roommate was having problems with her boyfriend lately and it could get a little loud. Normally in a case like that she would head into her second favourite place, the library but she knew she had some spell casting to do and she had to listen to her grumbling stomach.
Slipping past the groups of students, hanging out and talking more loudly than she would normally like, Rini, books held tightly in her arms, eyed a secluded table in the back, but first she had to get in line. There were maybe five people in front of her.
Her hair was in a messy sort of ponytail, off-center onthe top of her head. Clothes consisting of one of her many oversized sweater and skirt combinations. A pair of old tennis shoes on her socked feet.

He frowned, fixing the creased page in front of him. The book Jonas held high enough to read without craning his neck wasn't part of his homework. He probably shouldn't be reading it. Let alone standing in line, not paying attention. He couldn't help it though. It was his favorite author. And their new book. How could he put it down? He couldn't.
Jonas took a slight step forward, noticing the line moved a bit. Then he went back to his book, absently playing with the string on his long sleeved sweatshirt. Pulling it then letting it spring back repeatedly. He flipped the page again.

The line moved a bit, and Rini shuffled foreward. She couldn't really see what was going on, the boy in front of her had to be eight feet tall. It didn't matter, though, she would get their eventually. Her only real problem was the speed they were moving at. It left quite a bit to be desired and the books in her arms were just feeling heavier and heavier. Why not put them in her bag you ask? Well, she would but her bag had misplaced itself and she was still trying to get it to come back.
She shifted the books in her arms a bit and glanced towards her table. She thought about just going to set them down and come back but the line had grown behind her and her stomach was still growling. She sighed, and shifted again.

He smiled a bit. The image the book gave him was rather amusing. He'd reached a turn in the plot which was, as he was a little reluctant to admit, exciting. Jonas loved getting lost in a good book. He turned the page again, the line in front of him moving without his knowledge.

Rini shifted, yet again, now, not only were her books getting heavy but they were getting restless. She worked hard to get one of her notebooks in the middle to calm down. It was very unhappy at being here for so long, sqashed between notebooks and a textbook or two and was ready to let her know.
"Hold still, we're almost there."
She whispered harshly to the pile of books, ignoring some of the odd looks she was starting to get.

Jonas barely noticed the commotion behind him, nor the line in front of him. A student or two back in the line were starting to get annoyed at his lack of movement.

And her notebook had gotten fed up. Bursting open it flung the rest of the books off of it and onto the floor. It flapped, furiously, falling out of her arms itself. In response the rest of her books that had hit the ground had become quite irritated as well, flapping their pages in response to her not picking them up fast enough. Rini panicked.
Eyes wide she gasped and began scrambling to grab her books off the floor and keep them from flapping off. The others around her quickly moved back while others stood up to watch. Rini was busy apologizing as much and as quickly as she possibly could to everyone around. While pleading her books to please, please come back.

Jonas looked up at the noise, then turned to see what the commotion was. He had to admit, he was a little surprised. Definitely not what he had expected. He closed his book and slid it into his pocket. Jonas glanced up at the others standing around doing nothing and frowned. Obviously the girl was panicking. He knelt down to help her collect her rampaging books.

Most of them were pretty okay. They were just annoyed and being dropped. Her one pink, fluffy notebook however, was not pleased. Yes, rampaging was probably the right word for it.
"I'm sorry! I'm so sorry! I just-!"
She quickly reached through a bystander's legs to grab her textbook, and then next to someone else for one of her notebooks. The pink one, though, was quite busy trying to get ahold of whatever leg as closest, and it did not want this new boy touching it.
She stood, books in her arms, staring around frantically for the ones she couldn't find.

He could understand the books want to not be touched. If he were a book he would feel that way too. He felt that way in general. No matter, though, he was going to help as well as he could. Starting with collecting her books.

Oh My God. It was gone. Her notebook was gone and it was going to be gone forever. Tormenting students on their way by. Ripping up books in the library. Harrassing pets.
"Oh!"
She had found it, trying to bite the fingers of the boy who was apparently helping her. She stopped and stared.

He frowned slightly at it. He really didn't care if it bit him, he'd been through much worse. He just wanted to help.
"Come here." He mumbled softly, trying to call it to himself.

The book paused, as if it were looking up at him, judging him, choosing wether or not this person was okay.
Rini snapped out of it leaping forward while the book was distracted. She snatched it up off the ground, holding it tight between her chest and the other books. It was not pleased.
"Stop! Please! Or we have to go back to the dorm!"
It continued struggling, a little harder this time.
"Hush or you're going back in the trunk!"
It stopped. She had won. For now.
Rini sighed in relief, calming down finally. The commotion was over. However, there was still a group of people watching, curious about what just happened. She was just now realising they were there. Her eyes widened and a blush creeped onto her cheeks she couldn't stop. She felt like she had shrunk about five sizes.
As for her other book, she had forgotten all about the other boy.

He paused momentarily as she snatched the pink book. He watched as she wrestled the books, telling them to behave. It was really rather interesting. Jonas had never thought to charm his supplies. Well, that wasn't true. He'd done it once or twice with quils and the like. Just so he didn't have to continue writing. He'd tell them what to write and they'd do it. Not very personable.
He looked around. He didn't see any other books. But that didn't mean much, they could have run off.
"Is that all there was?" He asked, softly again. He really didn't like to draw attention to himself, which is exactly what he had done by helping. But there was nothing he could do about it now.

She could hear them talking, wondering what had just happened; who she was and why her books had tried to run away. Her face turned an even brighter red as she tried to dissapear into the collar of her sweater. Her attempts were foiled by another voice, though, causing her to jump and spin to face him.
She stared up at him again, for the second time today, only this time he was looking at her. She considered running away, she really did. But, she noticed the book in his arms, squirming and flapping to get her attention.
She stepped foreward, carefully taking it from his arms like a mother would a small child. She cared lot about her books. Not looking up at him she nodded, trying to adjust the heavy load in her arms so she could hold it okay.
