Once again he was sitting down by the lake. Like he always did. Coatless still. Luckily though it wasn't raining. Just a bit windy.
He was still getting worse. But what could he do about it? Miss more school? No. They'd just have to watch the sickly looking student for a few more days. Until it would probably be too distracting for him to stay in class. He didn't want to miss more class. Or have to tell them he'd be gone.
. . .Like last time. He hadn't done it last time. Rini had. . .
He sat there, book open, staring blankly at it, his mind replaying the last time he'd seen her. . .

Ashley had gone for a walk. Not in the woods again, but this time just around the lake. Recently he had been spending a lot of time down here. Avoiding, a little, getting back to his search in the forest. Back when he started he had realized just how large it really was and tried to create a system. As time went by, though, he started to get sporadc, forgetting what parts he had already searched. Now, so much longer later than he ever thought it could have been, Ashley was taking a break. And procrasitnating.
Since the last time he had seen Jonas, the ghosts mind... or whatever there really was of it, was still trying to wrap around what he had told him. He had crossed into a new millenia and hadn't even known it. He never would have dreamed.
He was rounding the corner, back towards the tree he normally sat against, walking as he normally did. He could see the figure in the distance and already knew who it was. He didn't pick up the pace any.

Jonas probably wouldn't have noticed him even if he made sound when he walked. He was too busy thinking.
So maybe he'd decided he had a little crush. Decided or realized. He wasn't sure which. Either way he'd realized that he had a bit of a crush on Rini. Not something he did very often...It was probably because he'd talked to her a few times...And she was cute. Nice and cute. He didn't know...
So he was thinking about it.
Davan:
It had been a few hours since she'd surfaced. Sounds weird, huh? Well it's what she did. Came back to the surface. After spending hours sitting around, playing her little games with the fish, and just doing nothing.
She peeked her head above the surface, looking around at the waves the wind was making. Pretty. Look! Jonas boy!

Ashley wasn't thinking about a crush. The last crush he had had was over fifty years ago and it had long since developed from that. Now having a crush would just be absurd. Not to mention he really couldn't act on it anyway.
Continuing his slow walk, he hadn't noticed Davan poke her head out of the water just yet. He walked up to the tree, taking a seat below it and as he spoke.
"Sitting in the cold without a coat isn't going to help your illness."

Jonas jumped a bit, startled, and looked up. It was Ashley. Not that he couldn't tell from the voice.
He paused for a moment before responding. Setting his book down on his lap and looking over at him.
"It's not going to make it worse either."
Davan:
. . . And him!
. . . . .
She made he slow shark swim towards the shore.
If she has any idea what Jaws was the theme would probably be in her head.

He quirked an eyebrow lightly and opened his mouth to respond but before he could a gust of wind blew through, particularly larger than the previous ones had been. It didn't effect him much. He couldn't feel it. Though it did blur his form a bit.
He frowned and tried again.
"How about the wind?"

He watched the trees move, finding it interesting. True, a cold chill hit him, rustling his hair. But what could he do? Well, a charm, he was sure. But he didn't think it necessary.
"I'll survive. I don't have a coat anyways."
Well, he had another coat, but it wasn't thick enough to make an impact.
Davan:
. . .
She watched from the side lines for a bit longer before popping up.
"Boo!"
She grinned. No, it wasn't necessary. And she didn't have much effort behind it aside from raising her hands over her head. But hey.

No coat? The wind died down and his outline went back to normal. He had noticed that for the last couple of times he had seen Jonas he didn't have a coat on him. Rather impractical in this area. Even he knew that. And didn't have he have a coat before?
"Where is your-?"
...
He frowned. No. That didn't scare him.
"Yes, terrifyng." </sarcasm> "Your coat?"

The outline bit was a little odd. But reasonable, he supposed. Where is his--?
. . .
He glanced over at her....and quirked an eyebrow. Hm? His coat?
"I let someone borrow it."
Rini.
Davan:
. . .
She frowned, giving Ashley a very unamused look.
"Mean."
His coat? Hey. Jonas wasn't wearing a coat.
"You talk to people?"

He rolled his eyes at her name calling before blinking at the important part. He let someone..?
"Who?" His eyes moved back to Jonas, just as interested as Davan. He didn't know Jonas even knew anyone. He seemed as reclusive as he had been when he was here.

". . . "
He furrowed his brow with a bit of a frown.
"Of course I talk to people."
Not very often. Or very much. He didn't exactly have friends. The closest he had to friends was...well...these two apparently. He spoke to them. That was a friendly thing to do...
Who? He paused for a second before he spoke, biting back a bit of a smile.
"Some girl I met a few weeks ago. She was in the rain and needed it. I didn't."

He quirked an eyebrow and actually smirked a bit at that. There was a girl involved now?
"So, you just run around giving your coat to girls now?"

"What?"
Whatever smile there was dropped into a frown.
"No. I do not."
Davan:
She nodded.
"Yeah. Didn't you hear? He met her a few weeks ago."

His smirk stayed in place. This was actually rather amusing. Normally he chased students off with his bad attitude. This time he was using it to do a little teasing. Besides, he was curious.
"His coat hasn't been gone for a few weeks."

". . . What does it matter?"
He frowned, absently playing with the edges of his book.
"She was wet, she borrowed my coat. It happens."
Davan:
"Why was she wet? She wasn't by the lake. Was she puddle jumping?"
Yes. That was the first thought about being wet if it wasn't the lake. Puddles were tops.
