It wasn't his fault, not really. Emma was just really glad she could be here at school at all and she wanted to do the best she could. Plus he didn't have a plant growing out of his head. The red hair was cool, but it wasn't leaves.
After a bit of note taking, she laid her quill down carefully, and sat back. It was getting warm in the room and she decided to take her coat off. Underneathe, besides the jeans, she was just wearing a blue tank-top. Sort of a gray-blue stormy looking print, a natural sort of fabric like all of her clothes. Much better. She stretched a bit, and got back to her note-taking.

He could try leaves. But he didn't think they would look that great. They wouldn't be real leaves....Well, he'd never tried. Oh well.
He took a few notes. This was....well, kind of boring. When were they going to get to the fun stuff? Never, knowing his luck. But whatever.
She caught his eye when she moved to take off her coat. He couldn't help it. He was still a teenage boy for gods sake. She looked good.
Cute, nice body, quirky in a cute way. But she still wasn't paying him any attention...He wanted her attention.

She did have a nice body, not for trying for hard though. She just ate right. Respect, remember? Respect your body and everything you put in it.
Yes, it was boring, but she was going to try and take notes as well as she could. And... well, doodle a bit over here on the side. She wanted to look that plant up so she needed to remember it. Or... her book was in her bag, maybe if she...
Glancing up at their professor she carefully bent to pull her herbology textbook out of her bag. She set it on the edge of the desk and, still taking scribbles notes, opened it, as quietly as she could turning the pages and looking through the pictures.

And Lucan watched. Through the entire process of it. Her grabbing her book, flipping through it, all of it. This class was boring him any ways.
So he decided to focus on the cute blonde next to him. The cute blonde in the tanktop. Who liked plants, apparently.
She looked a bit hippie ish. So he supposed it made sense....But still. Why hadn't she looked over. It was annoying. He bit the inside of his lip, watching her very intently. A bit of a determined look on his face. Maybe she was just focused on something else...He'd just have to split the focus.
But how....
Well. Interrupting was always a sure fire way to get attention. He leaned a bit closer to her, whispering so hopefully only she'd hear.
"I think we're supposed to be paying attention."

Every so often she glanced to the front of the room, trying to catch a look at the plant on their professor's desk. That was, until she heard a voice she hadn't been expecting next to her. She jumped, quickly closing the book and looking over.
Ahem.
"What?"

He grinned. It worked. Mostly. Now to reel her in.
"I don't think there's herbology in this class. Not yet anyhow."
Just keep talking.

She glanced at the book and back up at him, smiling sheepishly.
"I guess I got a little distracted..."

"It happens."
She was talking back. That was always good. Now, look charming. Look good. Be irresistible. And make sure she doesn't stop paying attention.
"I sort of lost my place too."
What was that? Lame. Better! Do better!

She blinked, leaning over to glance at his...notes? Was he taking notes?
"What did you get last?"

He had notes. They were random and short. Not very good notes at all. Just the things he found interesting.
"Something about...manticores or something."

She quirked an eyebrow, glancing up at him, still leaned in a bit.
...
Leaning back over, she grabbed her notes, slipping them over onto his desk, close to his.
"You're way behind."
She pointed to manticores, halfway down her page, then let him figure out he needed the rest of them too.

He didn't care about anything past manticores. Otherwise it would have been on his paper.
"Really? I wonder how that happened."
He knew how that happened. He was too busy paying attention to her and trying to get her to look at him. He succeeded didn't he? That was the point.
He glanced down at the notes.
"Thanks, but how will you write your notes if they're where I can see them?"

She chuckled a bit, glancing back up at him.
"You're supposed to speed write so I can take them back."

He got a chuckle. That was good. It made him smile a bit. He liked things like that.
"Speed write? How do you know I'm good at that?"

She rolled her eyes, not horribly seriously and took her paper back.
"I'll give them to you later."
Back to note-taking.
