Your Name: Neatta
Character name: Adrian [de] Baiard
Gender: Male
Birthdate: 3 August 1679
Age: Deceased at 24.
Family: None, any more. He was survived by his father and sister, and fiancée.
Description: Adrian looks a bit older than he is, simply because of the the time in which he died. His hair hangs to his shoulders, an auburn colour, with a hint of curl. Slim, unhealthily so, Adrian is dressed in the old clothes of the early 18th century.
Background: In 1703, Adrian de Baiard, the son of a cobbler, mounted his horse and rode through the woods that surrounded his sleepy little village of Puddlemere to go several miles into a neihbouring town to assist a cousin. His fiancée, Gretchen, kissed him and gave him bread for his trip, and Adrian graciously accepted her gifts with a promise of returning that night. It took him several hours to thatch the young widow's roof, and Adrian wasn't back on his horse until dusk. It was even darker when he had nearly reached the woods that separated a large field from the village, and the horse whinnied at the sight of water in a nearby river. Keeping in mind that he was already very close to home, a minute to let her drink didn't seem too bad, so Adrian hopped down and let her go, stopping to dump a pebble from his boot. When Heather, the horse, was drinking her water, and Adrian was retying his boot, someone hit the man in the back of his head with a rock and stole his money, the very little he had. Adrian lost consciousness and lay, helpless on the ground. Night fell completely, as did the temperature. Gretchen waited at her window until late the next morning, sleepless, when a neighbour came to her with news of Adrian's untimely death.
Adrian never left that field, though they carried away his body and buried it next to her mother's, and though they would later build a school there. He has sometimes ventured to the village, which has since grown, but he does not do so very often any more, because he cannot really bear the pain of those memories. He stays in this world because of his promise to return to Gretchen. The one that he couldn't keep. In general, Adrian is pleasant to the people, living or dead, that he encounters, and never off-putting. Occasionally, however, he can become quite sad, remembering Gretchen and how he broke her heart.
