September 14th - Sunday
The Transfiguration Wing. If Rini could spend every waking moment here she would. The Professors wouldn't mind for the most part but they did have classes and she had to sleep. This was where she was today, though, in one of her more advanced classrooms. This was where the head of the department taught, they were also the same professor helping her with her animagus work. She was alone right now, though, practicing by herself.
Right now she was practicing turning large animate objects into very small inanimate objects. Needless to say it wasn't easy and that desk just would not turn into the little bird it looked nothing like. That mouse over there used to be one of her books though. She was getting there.
Dressed in her usual, Rini had long since shoved all of her hair up ontop of her head, sweater sleeves rolled up to give her room to move. She waved her wand and tried again. Not small enough, too boxy.

"Right. I apologize. Next time I'll let you know ahead of time when I'm going to be absent." Jonas bowed his head as he spoke to his professor. It became increasingly difficult to let his teachers know he'd be absent without them suspecting anything. Especially during the days when he seemed perfectly fine. This wasn't exactly one of those days. The full moon was just days away and he was feeling it already. He felt a little sick. It wasn't as bad as it could be. But it wasn't always like this. Sometimes he didn't feel anything until the day before. Other times he felt it the entire week before, and days after. He supposed it might have to do with the rotation of the earth, maybe his diet or sleeping patterns. He really didn't know.
His professor made a few comments about his health that Jonas really didn't hear. Then was called off by another professor. He didn't really notice. Right. Two more to go. Then he could go lay down and feel awful for a few days. That sounded like a plan. He started to leave to find his Arithmancy professor.

She paused, and brushed a bit of hair out of her face that had fallen loose form her messy bun. She was getting tired and she still wasn't quite getting where she wanted to.
"Just think about it."
The desk, turned back to normal moved as if to lok up at her. She had a tendency to animate the objects she was transfiguring. She found it easier to ask them to turn, rather than force them. At least it made the spellcasting easier when they knew about it.
"You'll have wings!"
She kneeled down in front of it, patting its desk top.
"I know you don't want to get so small, but it's just for a couple of seconds."

He made his way down the hall. It was pretty quiet. Relatively empty. It seemed as though everyone else had something better to do. He just had to tell his arithmancy and divination professors. It should was really formality. Since they were supposed to know already.
Jonas heard a voice, and instinctively turned to find out what it was. Who it was, really. He headed to the room it sounded like it came from, peeking inside. It was that girl. With the pink notebook. Except today she was talking to a desk. About wings? Alright. He was curious.

If she knew he was there she would have most definately stopped. And run away. But she didn't know, so, instead she sat on the ground in front of it, still patting it on the... well, head?
"You don't even have to do it in front of anyone. I just want to practice. I promise."
It didn't seem convinced.
"And maybe I'll take you outside~"

He smiled a bit. It was cute, her talking to the desk. You didn't see it often. Jonas leaned against the door frame, still feeling a bit ill. He'd watch to see if she could do it, then go.

She giggled a little when the desk seemed disgruntled by the idea.
"You don't want to go outside?! Well will you help me anyway?"
She waited, watching the desk, until it nodded, just a bit. Rini beamed and hopped to her feet.
"Okay, ready?"
She lifted her wand, carefully said the words, invisioned what she was going for and pointed. The desk changed, this time into the little sparrow sized bird she was going for. It was perfect.
She was even more excited this time, clapping and practically hopping. She leaned down to pick up the little bird carefully.
"You did so good! Thank you~!"

He smiled again. It was too cute. She seemed so excited. The desk was cute too, as a bird. He was impressed. It wasn't something he could really do.
He was a little nauseous, but he ignored it. He should probably go. From what he knew of the girl she wouldn't want him around. He was okay with that, really. He didn't want to impose. He shouldn't have stopped anyhow.

She gave the little bird a little pet, proud of it for helping and doing such a good job. She had been working on this all afternoon and she finally got it right! The desk just thought it was cool that it had wings. So, it decided to try them out. Rini wasn't ready for that.
Watching the desk/bird hop off of her hand and try to flap its little wings, Rini's eyes widened and she gasped, reaching for it. It wasn't going to make it very far because it really wasn't doing very well. She was horrified it was going to fall.
"Wait!"
She leapt to grab it in the direction of the door.

Jonas watched the little desk bird hop off her hand. He had a pretty decent idea of how well it would fly. And he was right. Then she turned his direction. He froze. Maybe she wouldn't notice him. Sneaking out now was impossible. He could help with the desk bird?
He looked down, a bit embarrassed. Maybe he could just slink off. . .

She got the little bird before it fell, holding it against her chest. She was breathing heavily and she was pretty sure she just had a heart attack, but that wasn't the least of her problems. Slowly looking up she realised she was standing right in front of someone she had seen a couple of times before. She stared, face red, heart beating like crazy. She had no idea what she could even say.

He glanced up at her, then down again. He cleared his throat.
"I'm sorry.." Jonas said softly,"I haven't been here long. I'll go."

She blinked once. And then again.
Opening her mouth to speak, she was sure that words would actually come out but nothing did. She didn't know what to say or do or-
The bird escaped from her hands, making a break for the door again.

Jonas was about to sneak off when the bird hopped towards the door. His eyes widened a little, and his hands went instinctively to catch it before it got too far. Luckily he didn't hurt it.

She gasped and grabbed for it again, but he was in her way. She could only thank Merlin that he caught it before it got away.
"Oh! Thank you!"
She covered her mouth with her hands, sitll a little shaken by the whole thing. She needed to turn it back so it wouldn't run away again but he still had it so for now she just stood, staring up at him.
