"New?"
Sometimes he hated English too much. It was annoyingly difficult. And yes, he was taller.
"As in...you just got it new? Or just growing new?"

She paused again.
"That particular breed is new to my garden. It was all used up a couple years back by the potions department."
Hmph.
Moving on.
"It's growing beautifully, though."
She knelt down, arms rested on the ledge as she peered at it lovingly.

"They need to grow their own plants."
That was his total conclusion. If they wanted to make their potions then they should make them from the beginning. Grow them, cultivate them. Just everything. Not half ass their work.
He observed the plant for a moment before nodding.
"It is."
That was something he liked about her. That she actually took part in her subject. It was her life.

Some people might argue that it was too much her life, but she barely ever listened. It was one of the reasons she rarely left the greenhouse.
After a bit she looked up at him, head rested to the side on her arms.
"As interested as I am in the outcome of your project, I can't let you use or take any of it until I know it can handle it."
He would have to wait.
After another moment of looking in on it, she stood. There was dirt lingering on her jeans still but she never bothered to notice.
"The other breeds are just as strong though. Until it's finished growing you can have a bit of them."

"I'd rather the final product."
He made a bit of a face. He was impatient. It was something he couldn't help. This was important to him. It always was...But he could wait. He had to wait. So he would.
Aldrick understood how much the plants needed time to grow. He respected that.
"But alright."

She knew he wanted it now and she knew he wasn't happy with her decision but she wasn't going to let him tear up her plant like that. Not even a project as fascinating as that would make her treat any of her plants like that. He knew that.
She nodded when he agreed.
"As soon as it hits maturity it will be much stronger than anything you've tried so far. I promise I'll tell you as soon as it does."

"Alright."
As much as he wanted to keep his work going now and get the result he wanted (His mind already went over the outcomes he expected)....He'd wait.
"Thank you."

She nodded again, motioning for him to walk out ahead of her so she could recharm the door.
"Would you like any of the other species while you're here?"

"Anything I can have."
He smirked a bit. He couldn't help it. Maybe he was being charming. Maybe he was just being himself. Which was charming in itself. So screw.
And he was indeed making his way to the door.

She chose to ignore it, or at least pretend she didn't hear him. He was hard to ignore.
Once out, she charmed the door behind them and began walking towards the classroom.
"You have space to take care of them?"

Because he was so charming.
"I can make space. I don't need a bed. Sleep isn't necessary."
He kept going, not bothering to look back at her until he deemed it far enough to have walked.

She blinked, smiling a little.
"You must not have friends as nosy as mine, then."
She would love to work and not sleep, but apparently that wasn't allowd.

"Only my dorm mate."
He bit back a face.
"But I can stop him."

"Well, don't let him touch."
She walked back into the greenhouse, through the classroom and back into the room she ate her meals in. It was partially her personal garden, partially just another room for more plants. Fruit plants, flowers, you name it. Nothing dangerous, though, sorry Aldrick. He should still feel lucky he got to come back here. Technically she was bringing him into her home.

"I would never."
He followed. He would follow until she told him not to. This was important to him. His own little cause. It wasn't life saving or bettering for man, but it was his cause. Therefor it was top priority.
And it was very gracious of her to be letting him into such an area of her space.
