They'd won a game. No, it wasn't the first one they'd won. But it was a game. And they'd won surprisingly high in the score. Due to rain the snitch was a little more difficult for Keely to find tonight, so the chasers had enough time to score a few goals. Izzy did a great job blocking the goals. Sterling and Birdy were spectacular, as always. Probably doing more harm to the other team than was necessary. All in all it was a fantastic match.
A few points were less than brilliant, but they pulled through. And it even got J.L. on the field. Unfortunately for Dawson he got hit my a bludger sent his way by the other team. Knocked him off his broom, even broke his arm. But he'd be fine. That was the great thing about magick. You could get beaten to a bloody pulp and have nothing to worry about the next day.
After the game, and a good shower, everyone(Or everyone who could) headed to the Opaleye for an after game party. Courtesy of the West family (As well as a bit of money chipped in by the players who could.) Drinks, snacks, and good company. More than they could really ask for.
J.L. was seated at the bar, something delightfully alcoholic in his hand, listening to one of Mr. West's war stories. About how him and his brother held down the Inn from death eaters when you-know-who was on the prowl. Not exactly the sort of story he wanted to sit and listen to. But he'd humor the man, trying to keep any sign of distaste off of his face. He was, after all, providing drinks for the team. It was the least he could do.

It was a spectacular game and most of the players had yet to come down off the high. None of them would be on the team if they didn't love the game and winning just made it all the better. The Opaleye was definitely the place to be after a good game.
Cullen had grabbed a drink a bit ago, moving to sit at a table with Keely and Kim if he was nearby. She really did a fantastic job at the game.
Douglas had found himself some girls in the corner to talk to.
Birdy... well, Birdy was already drinking and couldn't seem to keep herself in her seat. Near the bar, she gave Dawson a rather rough, playfull sort of shove. Giddily giving him crap about his inability to stay away from the bludgers. She knew she was hitting him too much during practice.
And Bronwen? Bronwen was just now slipping away from Keely, Cullen, and company to grab herself a drink from the bar. And maybe she wanted to see what J.L. was up to. Maybe. She leaned past him, smiling up at Mr. West.
"Sorry to interrupt. Could I get maybe get an ale?"

Kim had grabbed himself a drink and a deck of cards. And quite a few dice. And a few cups. Guess what game Cullen and Keely got to play? That's right. Hm. Kim thought there were....five three's.
And Keely was no good at this game. But Izzy? Well. He had dumb luck. He could rock this game.
The bludger had blindsided Dawson that was for sure. And his arm was still healing. It'd be fine by morning. But the drink in his hand was there to help. Of course, if Birdy stopped shoving him. But whatever.
As for Denise and Sterling? They were in a very heated debate about brooms. As far as Denise was concerned her brand was best. Sterling disagreed.
Mid sentence Mr. West looked up, giving Bronwen a smile and a nod, and going off to get her drink.
"You sure you're old enough to be drinkin' that?" He was happy for the distraction. The conversation wasn't exactly in the realms of his comfort zone, that was for damn sure. And he was always allowed to heckle his teammates.

She smiled, watching him off before leaning on the counter, glancing over at her fellow chaser.
"You want me to call him back? He held down the inn way longer than you can imagine."

"No. It's alright. I think I know the rest of the story already."
He'd heard quite enough death eater stories for one lifetime, thanks. He gave her a bit of a smile, none too big though. It wasn't exactly in his character to do such a thing. He smiled, but it wasn't ever an exactly happy smile. Don't get him wrong. He was happy when he needed to be happy. He just didn't over emote. Something he'd learned as a child.
"Appreciate the help though."

She chuckled a bit, shaking her head. It was time to change the topic. Sorry Mr. West but it could only go on for so long.
"So, this was your first game this season, wasn't it?"

He nodded, Mr. West returning with Bronwens drink. He was really glad for the topic change. Really really glad.
"Yeah. It was. And I scored. I think that says something."
He was allowed to be cocky. Especially when you say things like that monotone. They sound less stupid.

She smiled, thanking him for the drink and taking a sip before chuckling.
"Says you know how to score once."
She took a seat next to him, throwing him a wink.

"If I can score once I can score again."
He tipped his drink at her before finishing it off and setting it on the counter. A second later and he was ordering another one. Over the years he'd gained quite the tolerance for alcohol. Maybe it was from how often he pub hopped when he was in Hogwarts. It didn't take much to convince people in sleaze holes that you weren't fifteen. Not that it mattered. They were sleaze holes.
Pub crawling had been a hobby of his. Took his mind off of things. He'd met some interesting people at those pubs. Maybe not the best of people. But they were interesting.
"Don't be jealous, Bron. It's unbecoming."
His words were accompanied with a bit of a grin.

Bronwen wasn't necesarily the best drinker in the world but she could keep up. She liked it down here at the pub and, like the rest of the team, tended to spend a lot of time here. Doing homework, hanging with friends, flirting with cute boys. Oh, wait, she was doing that already.
She chuckled again, taking another drink.
"Jealous? Of the reserve? Yeah, that must be it."

"Reserve. To save for later use. Now don't people usually save the best for last?
He tipped his drink at her once again, this time it was a dangerous green color as opposed to the clear of the last one, before taking a sip. He couldn't really help it. He liked the buzz. And it took a bit to get there.
"Pretty sure that's how it goes."

"I'm sure."
She watched him for a moment, eyeing the drink with a quirk of an eyebrow.
"What are you drinking?"

"It's true."
He shrugged a bit, taking another sip before looking back over.
"Chartreuse."
Then a pause, just for the obvious answer coming.
"Green Chartreuse."

She should have seen it coming. Really she should have, but somehow he managed to slip it in anyway.
She frowned.
"Yes, thank you."
And reached out to take it, stealing a sip for herself.

"As opposed to Yellow Chartreuse."
He made a bit of a face, letting her take it. He wasn't sure if she'd like it or not. There were those who did, and those who didn't.
"There's a difference."
