"I'm not done." The frown was back. Why were they doing this? He hadn't done anything to them. His hands had been fine. But he knew. They were cutting him off for no damn reason other than that he had dropped a glass. Mr. West had that look on his face. The one that said J.L. was done.
"Fine. Okay." He mumbled, pushing away from the counter, sliding off of his seat. If he couldn't drink here he was going to go somewhere else.

She was just trying to help, really she was. She didn't like seeing him bleed and she just wanted to make it better. Turned out she just made it worse.
He was leaving.
"J.L.!"
This time, rather than be worried the drunk made her laugh a littl, watching him go. She didn't follow.
"Where are you going?!"

J.L. wasn't falling over, but it certainly took some effort to walk straight. Even then it was a little off and he knew it. But whatever.
Where was he going? Somewhere that would serve him.
He threw her a sort of wave over his shoulder, using Kim's arm as a prop while he glanced back.
"Drinking. See you later."
And he turned back to start heading towards the door again.

He was already too far away by the time her buzz started shifting away from the fact that she thought he was joking. He was actually leaving. For a moment she waved, then turned to look around the room, trying to catch the eye of any guy on the team who was sober enough to follow him. She didn't want him going alone.
Cullen was still winning way too much money, and buying drinks for his table.
Birdy was... well, Birdy was passed out at her table.
Douglas had left with a girl.
Sterling? Izzy? Anyone?

Izzy, unfortunately had left. Had some important business to attend to.
But, lucky for Bronwen, Kim wasn't very far gone. Drinking was fun and all, but he rarely actually got more than a buzz. He reached up, grabbing J.L's arm when he started to move again.
"Hey, man. You can't go yet. Palmer here just said you couldn't beat him. You can't let him get away with that, can you?"
That made him pause for a second, turning to look back at them.
"What?"
His eyes tried to focus on Kim, then Cullen. They weren't doing the best job.
"I said Palmer doesn't think you can beat him. You have to defend your honor, man."

Bronwen relaxed in her seat, sighing with a soft smile. She slipped off her stool, wandering over to the table and wrapping her arms around Kim's neck in a hug from behind. She whispered a soft 'thank you' before standing up and watching from behind him.
Cullen on the otherhand just blinked over at Kim before turning his wide-eyed gaze to J.L. behind him. Back to Kim. The look on his face was a very obvious: WTF.

It was the first thing he'd thought of. No one wanted J.L. to be out there alone and drunk, and most of them were too tipsy to actually stop him if he tried anything. So he needed to keep him here. And what better way? Bronwen slipped around his neck and he just smiled a bit, with a slight nod for her, and started playing with his dice.
And the look on Kim's face for Cullen? Roll with it.
J.L. Looked between the two for another moment or two before sitting in the empty seat.
"Bullshit. You can't win."

Cullen didn't want this. He did not need drunk angry J.L. At all. Thank you Kim.
"I'm just getting lucky so... we'll see."
