He smiled softly, playing with his wine glass.
"You're beautiful, and I love you."

Ah, that's right. She was having dinner with the boy who had been after her for the last few years and she wasn't supposed to be.
Erin blinked, practically sinking down into her seat.
"Isadore.."
It certainly was not a grateful tone, though it was very sweet. More like it usually was, when she told him he needed to stop and go to class, but she wasn't sure what to say.

He continued to smile. Despite the response and the sinking feeling he got every time.
"Anything else you'd like to know? Favorite color or something?"

She looked down at her wine, taking a sip. She nodded.
"Yes, favourite colour."
She looked up at him, trying to act normal. Her playful mood was quite gone, however.

"It's green." His tone stayed the same. Cheerful and joking. But he wasn't looking at her. Smile still on his lips, he was looking down at the food he was playing with instead. "Like grass. Or maybe frogs."

She nodded, poking at her food.
"I like green too."

"Quick. Give me another question."

"Hm?"
She looked up at him, tilting her head a bit.
"Oh, um... do you have siblings?"

He looked up momentarily, and nodded.
"I have one older sister."
He wasn't avoiding looking at her so much. He hoped the sinking didn't show.
"Her name is Annunziati."

She offered him a bit of a smile, trying to fix what she knew she did.
"That's pretty."

He nodded.
"It fits her. She's extremely pretty."
He knew age was a terrible thing to bring up. So as long as he could he was going to avoid it.

She had no idea that was what he was avoiding, so she asked anyways.
"How old is she?"

He almost frowned. Of course she'd ask. He kept the smile on his face, and his voice light.
"She's two years older than me."

She almost asked, she really did, but there was an air of tension in the room. She knew it was her fault.
"I really appreciate the food, Isadore, I really do."
She could only hope he believed her smile, because she meant it.

He nodded. He knew she meant it.
"I should probably go, then."
