September 19th - Friday
Rini was in the library again. Really, anyone who knew her should have just assumed everytime. Where's Rini? Library or her dorm. If she wasn't in either of those places it was a rare day.
Back at her table with all of her books, Rini was studying one of her main purposes for being at this school. Transfiguration was her majour and she was working very hard to learn as much about it as she could. To get a job and whatnot, but when it came to transfiguration there was one test that proved just how skilled you were. The one thing that any transfiguration master had to be able to do. Rini was determined to become an animagus.
For a while she had been reading and studying, but during times like these when the library was fairly empty she set her books down to really work.
Taking a deep breath, she stretched her arms out in front of her, both of them, and rolled up her sleeves. Closing her eyes, she began to concentrate. So far she had gotten the long black fur up one arm, and tonight she was going for two.
She could feel it already, starting at her fingertips.

Jonas preferred working at night. It wasn't too late, but when it was pretty empty like this was his favorite. He could get all of his work done. Without worrying about being distracted.
He'd been sitting at this table for about two hours now, scratching down his notes. It was probably useless for him to take the same studies as the other students who were going into the medical field. He wasn't sure if he could even get a job. He was probably more of a danger to the patients than any help.
But he tried.
All the time.

Rini wasn't certain what she wanted to do yet, but it had to do with transfiguration. It was her best subject in school and here all of her transfiguration professors know her as their most dedicated student. They also knew her as the girl working to become an animagus. The head of the department encouraged and helped her quite a bit.
Right now she was focusing on that, then she would figure out what job she wanted. Probably in the ministry.
She took another deep breath and felt the hair crawl up over her hands. Just like she didn't know what job she wanted, she still had no idea what animal she was turning into.

Jotting down a few more notes, he frowned slightly. There wasn't much left in this book for him to take notes on. Alright. He closed the book, setting his quill down, and got up to put it away.
After replacing it on the shelf he glanced around a bit, looking for something interesting. Maybe there would be something interesting over here...
He stopped half way around the corner. Watching.

That's what he was doing? Just studying? No actual homework purpose? Rini had no room to talk. That was what she spent most of her time doing here.
Right now she was practicing, though, and she had no idea she had an audience. Another deep breath and it crawled even higher, above her wrists.

No. There was no homework. He'd finished that already. A while ago, too. He'd always been good at doing his work. Efficiently and on time. Today was no different.
But now...He was watching the girl he kept accidentally spying on. Rini. That was her name. He was...intrigued. It's not every day you saw a girl growing hair purposely on her hand.

It was crawling higher and higher up on her arms, moving up past her elbow. This was the first time she had given it a shot on both arms and it was going very well. Higher and higher until it was neat the sleeves she had rolled up. And then, for some reason, she lost her concentration. The fur crawled away much faster than it had come until it was gone completely. She sighed, slouching into her chair and finally opening her eyes.
What she saw was nowhere near what she expected. And that was why she sat and stared.

It was really interesting. He could only assume what she was doing. Not that he'd ever seen anyone learning to me an animagus before. He'd only ever seen the odd professor transform into a cat on occasion. And of course, the news. But that was different. It seemed so difficult to do. He'd never even considered learning. But, of course, part of that was him knowing what he'd become. There was no doubt. You became what you were inside. And he was one thing inside. And he didn't need to become it on call.
He was lost in his thoughts. Then all too suddenly he realized he had been caught. Again.

Rini only had two thoughts, though she was rather lost in them too. The first was that he was here. He was here and he was watching her. Again. Watching her grow hair on her arms. Why was he here? Why was he just standing there? Oh my God did he think she was a freak or something?!
The second, was that she was very, very tired. it always took a lot out of her and her professor explained that it would until her body got used to the change. Her body ached and she felt dizzy. She swooned a bit, and it had nothing to do her emotions. She was started to slip out of her chair.

Jonas stared at her, staring at him. He had to say something. But what? 'Hey, sorry I was watching you grow hair. Again. My bad.' Because that wasn't odd and awkward.
She looked a bit off. Tired. His eyes widened slightly as she started off her chair. He hurried to stop her from hitting the ground.
"Are you alright?"
For the first time in a long time he spoke at a normal level, maybe even a bit louder. It hurt a little.

She had hardly even noticed she was falling, not until she felt him stop her. It was like she was snapping back to reality, and it took a moment or two for her eyes to clear everything up.
"What..?"
There. She remembered now. She was practically horizontal now and he was holding her up. He being Jonas. This guy she kept running into. Her eyes widened and if she had been on her feet she would have run off.
"I-I...!"
She had no idea what she was. She just knew she had to say something. Anything.

"Are you alright?"
Obviously he was worried. How could he not be. She just about passed out. People didn't do that for no reason. And now she had obviously freaked herself out. This was all going swimmingly.

Can we say: fhiotwhnglwjtiom?
He wasn't about to let it go, though and she had to force herself to come with what she had meant to say.
"I-I... got tired."
That was the best explanation she could think of.
"It was... tiring."

"Alright.." He nodded. It was understandable. He was still speaking in a normal tone. It was really not something he was used to.
"Are you going to be alright? Do you need to lie down?"

She felt like an idiot. And she sounded like one too. Guess it was his turn to be worried.
She shook her head, trying to ignore the colour in her cheeks. He was still holding her up.
"I'm okay.. I just got a little dizzy."
