"Now turn it back." he laughed, holding it. "I need the quill not the worm."

She frowned.
"Keahi, I'm not doing it for you. I want to see you do it."

He frowned. "Fine. I'll do it. "
He set it down and pulled out his wand, aiming it. He mumbled the spell. Quickly the worm transformed. Into a pencil.
". . .thats sort of close."

She shook her head and turned it back into a worm.
"You're putting too much emphasis on the wrong part."
She showed him, saying it correctly, and turning it into a qwill.
"And it should be easier, since it was a qwill originally. It's itching to get back. Try again."
She turned it back into a worm.

Martina, annoyed enough already from having to deal with Douglas Byrne for two hours straight as they worked on a group project for a Herbology project, was, to say the least, not pleased to find that not only was her ridiculous roommate in the dorm room, but one of her weird friends was there, too. Or maybe it was a relative. Martina couldn't be sure, really. They all looked the same. She scoffed, glaring at the two of them before revising to ignore them completely. She slammed the door shut, just to make sure they knew she was pissed off, and then walked to her side of the room, dropping her bag down not-too-softly.
She sat down at her desk and slammed a textbook onto the tabletop, flipping it to the fifteenth page.

He started to try again, but stopped. The sudden distraction was rather loud. And sounded angry. He glanced over, spotting Rini's room mate. Great. Now he'd never get it right. He cleared his throat, and tried again. This time it actually did it! It was a little wiggly, but it was definitely a quill.
"Sweet." he grinned.

Rini didn't notice her roommate entering, but she did hear the door slam and it made her jump in surprise. She glanced over, shrinking a couple inches at the sight of the angry girl. She glanced down, and then looked back up at Keahi. She smiled and nodded.
"Good. Now turn it back."
She usually tried to keep pretty quiet when Martina was around but Keahi was here and he needed her help.

Martina looked over at them, even more annoyed at the fact that they didn't seem to care that she was annoyed. She turned to her reading and tried to focus, but she couldn't. She pulled out a piece of parchment and started to take notes on ways she should get back at Rini. If she needed to talk when Martina had to study, well, Martina could do much worse while Rini was trying to study.
"Could you both please be quiet?" she asked, her brow knit and her jaw set.

"Back?" He frowned. He could do it, yes. But did he want to? No. He liked the wiggly quill. He glanced martina's way. So rude. All the time. He didn't see how Rini could stand it. But he turned back to his quill, muttering the spell, and turned it back. Maybe he'd put it in Martina's bed.

She jumped again, glancing over at Martina. She murmered a quick sorry, and looked back up at her cousin. She lowered her voice, trying to be quiet enough for her.
"And back to quill?"

Martina went back to her reading, happy for a few moments with her roommate's apology. She was making her squirm, which was just what she needed to vent her frustrations about a non-stop session of being hit on by a brainless athlete. But she still wanted them to go away. Cry, too. But she'd take just going away. She started scribbling notes from the reading, not really minding what she was reading or writing, but listening instead to the two of them across the room. They were pathetic.

He sighed. Then turned it back. This time it was a bit more solid. That was good. Without her making a mention he turned it back into a work. He could learn. He just needed to practice. Transfiguration just was not his thing.

She wanted to clap and tell him he did good, but she knew Martina wouldn't like it. That was how it was. Martina could slam and rant and rave but Rini had to be as quiet as she could when she was around. Normally it wasn't a problem, but she did tend to get a little giggly and loud with her cousin.
She smiled and nodded, watching him go over it again.
"But you really should practice on a real worm. This is going kind of easy on you. It likes being a quill."
She spoke like that a lot and it tended to weird people out. She spoke of inanimate objects as if they were alive. She couldn't help it, though. She had animated so many objects in her life that she knew they had lives and thoughts and emotions. Most of her objects were animated. Hence her books trying to nibble on people's fingers.

Martina had, of course, noticed Rini's odd attitude toward inanimate objects. If she were a different person, she may have found it endearing. But she wasn't, so she just wondered why in the earth she got stuck with such a freak for a room mate. She slammed her textbook shut and pulled out a small, leather bound journal, which she opened and started to write in. She glanced across the room another time, and then continued to write.

Keahi glanced up at the sound. The annoying slamming sound this 'martina' girl seemed to enjoy so much. Everything was loud and angry with her. Seriously. Prozac, woman. Prozac. He looked back at Rini.
"I'd really rather not go worm digging."
