Any place was a place to meet a girl. It just depended what type of girl you wanted to meet.
She noted the books, but chose to ignore them. If she felt this wasn't going well she'd grab them. If.
"Well, Brin," She had to return the favor, "Can you finish the most expensive thing on the menu?"

He mocked offense, sitting up straighter.
"You callin' me skinny?"

"I might be."
She shrugged, crossing her legs.
"What if I am?"

He shrugged, chuckling a bit.
"I wouldn't say much, it's true."

"Yeah. But it works."
Smiling a bit to herself, she set her books down on the table.
"So, Brin, do you constantly kidnap girls books?"

No sense hiding it. He wasn't that kind of guy. You either liked him or you could move on. He didn't care.
He chuckled a bit as she said his name again then he mocked offense again.
"Kidnapp? I am protecting them, remember?"

"Right. Protecting them from me and my puddles."
She nodded, adding a sound or two of understanding.
"Very noble of you."

He shrugged, leaning back against the back of the booth as his arm stretched out to rest on the table. His fingers began to tap. There was really nothing he could do about it. The rest of him remained calm.
"I'm just that kind of guy."
He threw her a wink as their waiter finally made their way over. He considered ordering something expnsive and being obnoxious but he decided something middle ground would suffice. Fish. He liked fish.

"I bet you are."
She smiled a bit at the wink. Of course she noticed the tapping, but she ignored it. It wasn't a big thing so whatever.
Then she waited for him to order. Wondering if he'd indeed order something expensive...and he didn't. Nice. She ordered herself something small, a salad or the like. She did intend on paying.

He wasn't going to let her pay. It didn't work that way.
When the waiter left he looked back up at her, fingers still tapping on the table.
"I've never seen you before."

"You haven't?"
Hm.
"I've seen you, I think. Not this close though. Probably across a courtyard or something."
She laughed a bit, mostly to herself. There wasn't a joke in it. She just laughed a bit when she flirted. It just happened.

He smiled. He couldn't help it. He did that when he talked to girls, and boys for that matter. At least when he was flirting with them. And yes, he was flirting with her. What? She was damn cute.
"And you didn't come say hi?"

She could tell about the flirting. Or atleast she hoped she was right in assuming.
"I figured it would be rude. Presumptuous."
She didn't flirt with very boy. Just the cute ones she thought were worth her time.

"Uh huh."
He looked away, mocking hurt and being cute.

"My mistake."
She gave him a mock apologetic face.
"I won't do it again."
