He shrugged, deciding to get huffy for a second. He might have kept it up if he hadn't gotten bored. And then their food showed up.
Glancing over after throwing their waiter a nod, he eyed the first book on the pile. Then moved it to look at the second. He glanced up at her curiously.
"Muggle studies?"

"How did you guess?"
Of course all of them were muggle studies. Quite obviously so. She poked at her salad, shrugging.
"It's interesting."
Not that she needed to defend herself.

He shrugged a bit, leaving her books alone and getting to his food.
"Probably, if you didn't live with them your whole life."
He chuckled a bit to show he wasn't making fun of her. Not really. Flirting, remember?

She chuckled a bit in return.
"Well I haven't. Not at all. So I still find it interesting."
That was probably an understatement. They were weird, muggles. And they were the most interesting thing in her life at the moment. Well, aside from this lunch.

He shrugged a bit, finally stopping his hand now that he had food to focus on.
"I always wondered what you actually learned in those classes."

"Not everything, unfortunately. It's practically all textbook."
. . .
"My professor isn't even Muggle born. It's a little pathetic."

"Wow. That... sucks."
He wasn't going to lie, that was rediculous. It would be like learning magic from a muggle.
Setting his fork down, Brin sat up a bit. He had been wearing a jacket outside where it was cold but it was getting to be a bit to warm in the pub. He shrugged it off his shoulders and let it fall behind him on the seat. Normally he didn't really think about remembering to wear long sleeves, it tended to slip his mind with everything else had to worry about. Brin had scars, though not the sort of large, scabby trackmarks you normally saw on druggies, they were still there and obviously what they were. He had done heroin, when he was younger among a dozen other things. Whatever he could get his hands on at the time, though it had only really been at the end. Enough to get addicted but not quite enough to really mess him up. They bothered him still. But not today. He was wearing a short sleeved shirt.

"It does."
She pursed her lips momentarily, but then decided to move on from it. Bringing a hand up, she brushed some hair out of her face, then rested her hand on her cheek.
When he took his coat off she planned to just scan her eyes over him real quick. She wanted to make sure he wasn't secretly some fatass, which he was most definitely not. But her eyes fell on his arms and she paused, bringing her hand a bit closer to her mouth to bite discretely on a knuckle. Of course she could figure out what those scars were. She wasn't stupid. It was something she'd studied before. Mostly in her free time. What? She wasn't going to find out the bad things in school, not really...She tried to make her looking a little more...discreet.

No, he was not a fatass. He was rather the opposite. Though, he was skinny he wasn't horrible to look at. He did have a little something under that shirt. Being tall didn't really help his case.
Luckily for Sheena, when he was finished taking off his coat, he took the time to take another bite or two of his food and a drink of water. Just water. He didn't drink anymore than he did drugs. Well, muggle drugs.
He looked back up at her again, not noticing what she was focusing on.
"Maybe you should, you know, study magic here at this magic school."
He grinned playfully, wondering to see how she reacted to the blatant teasing.

It took her a moment or two, but luckily he wasn't paying attention. After gaining her composure again, her mind wandering off for a second about muggle drugs, she rolled her eyes at him.
"That's too cliche."
Right. They were talking about something else. Alright. She could do that. He was cute. Not too hard.

He sighed set his fork down, looking up at her 'offended' again.
"First you don't say hi to me and now I'm too cliche?"

"Not you personally, don't worry."
She chuckled a bit, poking at her salad.
"It's my subject."

He smiled a bit, picking up his fork again and getting back to his food. He spoke up again after a moment.
"How long have you been here?"
It still bothered him that he hadn't seen her before, though they did have quite different majours. He wouldn't be caught dead in a muggle studies class.

"Years."
She rolled her eyes a bit and sighed, eating a bit of her salad.
"Alright. So I took a break for a year so maybe that doesn't count."

He quirked an eyebrow a bit.
"To do?"
